About The Skipper Classic
The Skipper, now in its ninth year, aims to honor the memory of John E. "Skip" Wagnon, the longtime Athletic Director at UCO. The event focuses on two important aspects of his legacy: fostering camaraderie on the golf course and providing support to UCO Athletics. The Skipper started as a small gathering of Skip's friends shortly after his sudden passing in August 2015. Despite its humble beginnings, the event attracted 66 players and raised over $2,300 for UCO Athletics. Since then, The Skipper has grown in both participants and sponsorships, raising over $50,000 to date. We invite you to join us this year and help take The Skipper to new heights in supporting the Bronchos.
Skip Wagnon Athletic Fund
UCO Athletics has a supplementary reserve fund established in 2016 within the UCO Foundation to honor the career and life of the late Skip Wagnon. This impactful fund is available to donors who wish to support the Bronchos in meeting their general expenses, which cover program operations, including events, equipment, facilities, and scholarships. Each year, the highest priority requests are given due consideration.

If you cannot attend The Skipper and want to show your support, you can donate to the Skip Wagnon Athletic Fund.
A portion of your registration will be applied to tournament costs and a nominal administration fee applies to all spendable accounts. The remaining percentage will be directed to the Skip Wagnon Athletic Fund at the UCO Foundation and will be your tax-deductible portion.
