Latest Issue Available in Print and Online 

The summer 2024 issue of Old North Magazine is now available in print and online. The issue, “This is Where Movement Is,” is the inspiration for UCO’s new brand campaign, which lies in the university seal and the motto inscribed within it, Ubi Motus Est. It’s both a nod to our history and a declaration of intention. 

The publication features an overview of Todd G. Lamb's Presidential Inauguration week, as well as impactful alumni and student success stories.

Alumna's Jewelry Shines at Olympics

UCO alumna jewelry brand had its own moment at the Olympics

Central alumna Hannah Barnthouse, owner of Feed Me Gems, had her moment at the Olympics when an Olympic swimmer embraced his family after winning his eighth gold medal. The swimmer’s wife wore red, white and blue earrings from Feed Me Gems, located at 33rd & Broadway in Edmond.

“When I saw them on TV, it just, hit different,” said Barnthouse. “This is such a ‘pinch me’ moment.”

UCO's Joe Hight Honored for 50 Years of Dedication to Journalism

The Oklahoma Press Association recently honored UCO's Joe Hight as a member of its "Half Century Club," recognizing his 50 years of dedicated service and commitment to journalism.

The alumnus earned a bachelor's in journalism from Central and currently serves as the endowed chair of journalism ethics in the UCO Department of Mass Communication and as director of the Oklahoma Journalism Hall of Fame.

Alum Feature

Alumnus Dorian Quinn is captivating audiences on the Equity North American tour of “Mamma Mia!” He is a member of the ensemble and shines as an understudy for Bill and Sam, two of the show's leading men.

Born in Stillwater and raised in Ponca City, he found his love for theater during high school when he was cast as Mr. Salt in “Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory.”

After graduating from Central with a bachelor’s in musical theatre, Dorian worked in regional theatres, on cruise ships, and on the non-Equity 2019 national tour of Legally Blonde—The Musical.
