Sgt. Ryan WoodThis scholarship was established by Renee Wood-Vincent and Scott Vincent in honor of their son, Sgt. Ryan Wood. Ryan was killed in action on June 21, 2007 – less than one week after learning the happy news of his acceptance to the University of Central Oklahoma. Sgt. Wood was a patriot and a brave soldier who lost his life fighting for freedom and democracy.

Ryan had a passion for music and art, which inspired his family to establish two scholarships at UCO. The scholarships benefit students studying within the Academy of Contemporary Music (ACM@UCO).
