Black Girl Magic Celebration
Thursday, Feb. 3
10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Grand Ballrooms, UCO Nigh University Center
Virtual Zoom Session: 3 p.m.
Black Girl Magic is an annual celebration that encourages unity among African American women while fostering and empowering a sense of self in all ladies who participate. This quote from Jesse Williams encompasses this year's theme, "Just because we’re magic, doesn’t mean that we’re not real." The event will be a weeklong celebration geared toward empowering young black women.
Students, faculty, staff and the community at large will be able to engage in conversations, panel discussions and workshops that explore all facets of the experience of African American women. While the topics and panelists will vary, you can expect the discussion to touch on how African American women can maintain their authentic selves as they go through life as students, professionals, citizens and family members in our complicated world.
Conference registration includes breakfast, lunch and swag items.
I cannot attend, but I'd like to make a donation to the UCO Office of Diversity & Inclusion Support Fund.
