Alumnus Named Thirteenth Pastor at Historic OKC Church

The Rev. M. Price Oswalt (left) was installed as the thirteenth pastor of St. Joseph's Old Cathedral by the Most Rev. Paul S. Coakley, archbishop of Oklahoma City (right) on March 22, 2015.

Oswalt, now in his nineteenth year of priesthood, has served various congregations across the state, including Anadarko, Binger, Carnegie, Kingfisher, Norman and Oklahoma City Epiphany of the Lord. He spent the past three years presiding over Lincoln County parishes and Shrine of Infant Jesus of Prague, which brought in over 70,000 visitors last year.

Outside of his church obligations, Oswalt serves as CEO and Chaplain of Holy Innocents' of Oklahoma, State Chaplain of the Knights of Columbus, Chaplain to the Oklahoma Catholic Broadcasting Network, Catholic Chaplain to the OKC Police Department as well as Chaplain and Founder of the first post of the Oklahoma Catholic War Veterans.

He is also an active alumnus for the Tau Kappa Epsilon fraternity, serving as a Grand Justice to the International Court.

Oswalt studied at Central from 1981 to 1984 before heading off to seminary.

St. Joseph's Old Cathedral is celebrating it's 125th year of existence, making it the oldest church in Oklahoma City. It boasts a membership of over 900 families from across the metro.
