Alumna Named First Female General in Illinois National Guard

On March 7, Alicia Tate-Nadeau was promoted to the rank of Brigadier General in the Illinois National Guard, making her the first female general to hold a general position in the state's guard, according to the press release from the Illinois National Guard's website.
Tate-Nadeau's two children, Gavin and Lindsey, were present to pin on their mother's new rank, along with family, friends and approximately 200 Illinois National Guard Soldiers and Airmen who also attended the ceremony.

She was a member of the UCO ROTC program and has over 30 years of military service.

Henrik Williams, Ph.D., a leading expert in runestones, returns to Oklahoma to hold a lecture on runestones in North America and his field studies in Oklahoma. He has studied runestones across the globe, including Oklahoma's Heavener Runestone, and will be investigating stones reportedly located in Poteau and Tulsa in the near future.

UCO@125 Promo Video
At the beginning of 2015, the University of Central Oklahoma launched a yearlong celebration of UCO's 125th year. There will be many opportunities for alumni and friends to enjoy a trip back to campus, or to learn more about Central's rich history. We hope you will be able to join us in celebration throughout the year!
Luminary Society

With the 125-year celebration for the University of Central Oklahoma comes a new society that honors individuals who brought distinction to, or positively influenced the life of the university through their service and/or contributions.

This visionary group of 125 will be recognized throughout the celebration year and formally inducted into the new Luminary Society for the university. Eligible nominees can be living or deceased and include alumni; former and current students and employees; or community members and advocates.
