UCO's Oldest Graduate Makes History in UCO@125 Year

Bob Grant, 82, will become the oldest graduate in the University of Central Oklahoma’s 125-year history on May 8 when he receives his master’s of gerontology from the university’s Jackson College of Graduate Studies. Grant earned his bachelor’s of science in general studies from Central in 2011, more than 60 years after beginning his degree. He first attended classes on Central’s campus in 1944 as a sixth grader in Old North.

Online registration for the 2LT Jared Ewy Memorial Golf Tournament open until May 28. The tournament raises money for the Jared Ewy Endowed Scholarship, a UCO Foundation scholarship. Donations received at the event will benefit the Donna Nigh Scholarship for Special Education majors in the UCO College of Education and Professional Studies. Nominate someone for the Luminary Society today!

 

With the 125-year celebration for the University of Central Oklahoma comes a new society that honors individuals who brought distinction to, or positively influenced the life of the university through their service and/or contributions.

This visionary group of 125 will be recognized throughout the celebration year and formally inducted into the new Luminary Society for the university. The society will continue to induct new members each year. Eligible nominees can be living or deceased and include alumni; former and current students and employees; or community members and advocates.
