Price Lang Consulting is the brainchild of two University of Central Oklahoma graduates with nearly 40 years of industry experience between them.
Emily Lang (BA ’01) and Charlie Price (BA ’95) worked together for nearly 10 years in state government before branching out on their own to found Price Lang Consulting in January of 2011.
Price Lang Consulting focuses on writing, strategic planning, messaging and connecting. Their client base is made up of non-profits and companies of various sizes, including an international telecommunications business.
One thing that both Lang and Price emphasize is the importance of Central in their success.
“The connections we made at UCO continue to serve us,” Lang said.
From representing clients who are also fellow graduates to matching current clients with services offered by other UCO alumni, they create the perfect atmosphere for Central partnership and collaboration.
Both Price and Lang served on the President’s Leadership Council while at UCO, but they attribute much of their journey to the faculty and staff at Central.
“The Mass Communications department, in particular, has changed so much since I graduated, but professors like Dr. Terry Clark and other faculty on campus educate students and support them far beyond graduation,” Price said. “That lifelong connection is critical.”
They also brag on Central’s growth and development, both in the metro and in the classroom.
“As trends in the industry change, the classes that UCO offers change with them,” Price said.
“Even in Forensic Science, they’re learning cutting-edge techniques with the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation just down the street. UCO’s location is great for the additional opportunities in the metro – not just for students but also alumni.”
“The university’s reputation is on such a great trajectory,” Lang said. “It’s a degree you can be proud of.”
Price Lang Consulting held an open house for their new office space on January 21, 2016.
In honor of all the support they received when they launched in 2011, their office space is decorated with artwork done by local artists. The pieces are available for purchase.
“We want to help continue that idea of supporting and connecting,” Lang said.
In addition to showcasing local artists, the partners of Price Lang have also established a scholarship through the UCO Foundation benefitting mass communication students. They announced the award at their grand opening, adding one more reason this new venture is continuing to make a difference in the communities they serve.
