Brig. Gen. Alicia Tate-Nadeau (BS '87) was recently appointed by Mayor Rahm Emanuel to serve as the Executive Director of Chicago's Office of Emergency Management and Communications (OEMC). "Alicia Tate-Nadeau has spent her career looking out for others' safety - whether as a soldier on the battlefield or as a public servant in government," Mayor Emanuel said. Tate-Nadeau, a native of Enid, was named a Distinguished Alumni Award recipient in 2015. She was the first woman to reach the rank of brigadier general with the Illinois National Guard. During her time at UCO, Tate-Nadeau received her commission as second lieutenant through the UCO ROTC program.
